7 Lancashire independents to snuggle up with this Autumn

The clocks have changed, the evenings (and the mornings 🙃) are getting darker – what better way to stave off the seasonal blues than by checking out these 7 local and oh so cosy independents to get you through the winter months.

Lanx
We’ve raved about them before but Lanx really do bear repeating – their boots aren’t cheap but they’ll last you a lifetime and they are the PERFECT thing to go stomping through the autumn leaves in. Sturdy enough to keep you upright, stylish enough to wear straight to the pub, what’s not to love.

Lily Kate Makes
Whilst you’re fitting out your winter wardrobe it doesn’t get cosier than whipping up your own hand knits (it’s not quick but oooh the satisfaction!). Lily writes patterns for everyone so whatever your shape, size or skill level grab a pair of needles and get stitching!

Cow Shed
If you need a little extra incentive to get out from under the covers once the temperature dips may we suggest bribing yourself with Cow Shed’s exceptional pancakes? And maybe a seasonal hot chocolate, or the toffee apple french toast, or the truffle bacon and eggs…

Goosnargh Gin
Another old favourite Goosnargh Gin have everything you need for a thoroughly tasty and slightly tipsy autumn winter season! Grab one of their seven chapters online or go visit them at Wyresdale Park for the full distillery experience!

Origin Bakehouse
Origin out-do themselves week on week with their home baked counter; think chocolate sourdough cookies, seeded loaves, fresh pastries and all manner of sweet and savoury themed treats. (Plus fresh pressed juices to keep your immune system going all winter long!)

FAE
Fae Candle Co is such a cool concept that we’re willing to forgive the split provenance – Devon mixes bespoke scents inspired by mythological and literary landscapes, so if you can’t face actually heading out on that winter walk you can light a candle and pretend instead, we won’t tell anyone 😉

The Continental
If you do head out on that walk though, you could do much worse than planning your route to end up at the Continental – another oldie but goodie, you can’t beat a well earned pint in the snuggest of snugs, especially when mulled wine season rolls around…
